MXR Carbon Copy vs Zoom MS-70CDR 'Carbon Delay'

Both sound really good to me. The modulation is pretty similar, the MXR is a bit easier to dial in and adjust. When connected in stereo, the Zoom is still just dual mono, only a few of its delay algorithms have any panning going on.

SSS Strat ( 'scuse the buzz!) plugged straight in, no boost. I love this unit, it has a serviceable headphone out (built-in analog cab sim), stereo fx loop, built in 2x1.5w stereo power amp (to drive a guitar cab) and really decent clean / crunch tones to go with the epic, tight lead channel. If using the built-in power amp, I'd recommend a 'smiley' EQ in the loop as the unit doesn't have its o...

Reverb in the FX Loop vs Plugin Reverb after the IR / Mic
Переглядів 1077 місяців тому
I definitely prefer the sound of the reverb in the loop, even at the risk of clipping the input of the GX. As far as I can tell the input section of the GX700 is analog so it doesn't get too nasty when you push it. The 'Studio' series Marshall amps don't have a post-phase-inverter master volume, which means the master on the SC20 is before the effects loop, so when you turn it up the loop gets ...

    i HAVE A TERROR 15 STILL IN THE BOX, HAVNET OPLUGGED IT IN YET .......now im wondering should I trade it for a differen amp. I really want a Peavey Jsx or 5150 III used & beat up even,dont care but those are a few amps I really want. Plus I have a Crush 100 head ...... its ok, good rock/metal amp. But not what I want.

    Ok ive been playing for a LOT of years but I wouldnt consider myself any kind of expert on anything. But even i know that using amp simulators and EQ presets while outputting to a guitar amp is just not advisable. I use the ME 50 with my Peavy Classic 50 in my left channel and my VOX VT100x in my right channel. I have already auditioned both preamps and gotten the sound separation I want from each am (in bypass mode w no onbard treatment). I go L out to the Peavey and R out to the VOX. The ME 50 have several EQ presets in the preamp stage. I DO NOT USE THEM ever when im using an amp. WHy? Cuz Im already getting the best each amplifier can give for my ears. What I use the ME 50 for is TREATING my sound. The ME 50 as a preamp wave producer does more of what i need than the VOX VT preamp effects and its more controllable. The Peavey only has a reverb chamber but i dont use that. The ME 50 provides me with far more flexibility as far as reverb is concerned. But i just never ever use an EQ preset in this stereo configuration. It degrades my sound and i dont understadn why anyone would expect ANY preset or amp sim to sound good......THRU AN AMP. Now thru a "speaker" is a different story. a flat response studio monitor could benefit from an amp SIMULATOR. WHy? cuz ur simulating an amp thru a flat response speaker.

    Bro ur ALREADY WAAY in the weeds. Most of this was gobbledygook to me. Its too tech geeky. The whole reason I choose the ME series over the GT series is because I DONT LIKE SUB-MENUS. I dont need more, i need to turn the knobs, save the patches, push the pedals and FUCKING rock n roll! All the shit ur doing is what i would pay a guitar tech to do.

    Interesting… I had a mesa 4x12 with v30’s and I found them to be fuzzy. I only recently found out Marshall uses its own vintage speaker in the jubilee and vintage cabs. I really like the Marshall g12 vintage speakers and will prob get those in the future to pair with a jubilee mini.

    • @PedalScience
      @PedalScience 17 днів тому

      yep they're pretty good and a lot of people prefer them to standard Vintage 30s, although I do much prefer them in a 4x12 compared to 1x12 or 2x12, but perhaps that's true for most speakers... Wouldn't your Mesa cab also have had proprietary Vintage 30s though? (Different flavour of course)

    How exactly you’re getting this ping pong effect out of your dd7? I mean, what’s your signal? I’m having a major struggle with the manual and all of possibilities that the stereo mode has… best reggards! And beatiful sounds btw!

    • @PedalScience
      @PedalScience 22 дні тому

      See page 16 of the manual static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/DD-7_e01_W.pdf Hold down the pedal bypass switch and insert a cable into input B, release the bypass footswitch, then turn the mode knob to 800ms. Then press the footswitch once more. Check LED should blink rapidly to indicate that you have saved the setting. If you have a single / mono input signal (i.e standard electric guitar) and both outputs from the pedal going to separate channels on your interface / PA etc, then you should hear the ping pong effect as intended. You will also need to ensure both channels are hard-panned left and right respectively i.e pedal output A to channel 1 panned fully left and pedal output B to channel 2 panned fully right. Hope that helps

  • @cyberpunk409
    @cyberpunk409 24 дні тому

    This proves that pedals are "ON" all the time, the footswitch just engages the effect in and out of your signal chain. I guess this prevents "popping" when you engage/disengage the effect, but seems very old tech

  • @FreDGuitaRtv
    @FreDGuitaRtv 24 дні тому

    I already have a Cannabis Rex i am happy with in a cab. I am thinking of puting the hempback in a 30watts valve amp. A Marshall copy that sound good but way too bright, straight and harsh. It was made in Laboga factories i think. Are the 50watts of the Hempback enough? Does it break-up/crunch a bit late like the cannabis Rex ? Otherwise i was thinking of the Eminence Hempdog. Are the 150watts of this speaker useful in some ways?
